BOLTON Satin Nickel 3.5 X 3.5 X 2.2mm 1/4BOLTON Satin Nickel 3.5 X 3.5 X 2.2mm 1/4" Radius Door Steel Hinge

Satin Nickel finishes are extremely popular. Our hinges have a carbon steel base and are plated. The pins are removeable for easy installation. Most doors require 3 hinges per door. HOW TO INSTALL DOOR HINGES. Step 1: Decide where you'd like to install the hinges. You can install hinges to make a door open to the left or the right. Step2: Mark the spots at which you want to install the hinges on the door frame. Most hinges are installed 10 inches from the door frame's bottom and 5 inches from the top. Step 3: Measure the same distance on the door itself and make corresponding marks. Step 4: Trace the outline of the hinge onto the door frame using a pencil. Make clear delineations of the width and height of the hinge. Step 5: Make marks for places in which you plan to place screws. Step 6: Create a depression in which to insert a recessed hinge on the door frame. Use a hammer and chisel to score the area within the outline of the hinge. Step 7: Screw the hinge in place. Avoid over-screwing the hinge. Step 8: Repeat Steps 5 through 8 to attach the recessed hinge to your door. Step 9: Connect the two halves of the hinges by reinserting the hinge pin. This will secure the door to the door frame.

3 Steel Houses: Barton Myers Associates----House Design Series II3 Steel Houses: Barton Myers Associates----House Design Series II

Since 1970 , the architect Barton Myers has constructed three custom-designed steel residences in addition to developing a flexible prototype for standardized, mass-produced housing. Each project represents a unique approach to a radically different set of client, site and building requirements, demonstrating the versatility that steel construction holds in urban, suburban and semi-rural contexts. Viewed collectively, Myers' work creatively envisions the potential that mass production, using exposed steel frame construction and standardized off-the-shelf industrial components, can hold for environmentally sensitive design. This book is a unique, in-depth study of three major residential projects. Each project is presented in remarkable detail, with full-colour photographs, sketches, plans and text, including the architect's own thoughts on the creation of each home.

The English HouseThe English House

The English House reviews the changes in style that can be seen in domestic architecture in England from Norman times to the present day. Written for the interested layman rather than only for the architectural historian, it is how the house and its rooms were used and the way in which owners past and present lived in these properties which is the main subject of this book. The book is divided into fifteen chapters by date from 1000 to 2000 AD. Within each period the main characteristics of the houses are analysed and examples discussed and illustrated, concentrating both on well-known and less familiar structures. Starting with Norman houses, an introduction describes how the rooms in such houses were used and embellished and this is followed by a chapter dealing with early mediaeval buildings, showing how local variations can be recognised. The third chapter deals with the high mediaeval period and is followed by Tudor, Elizabethan and Jacobean houses. A chapter is devoted to the Carolean peri
